What equipment makes up an NPK fertilizer production line?
An NPK fertilizer production line is a complete system that processes nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers with trace elements in a scientifically proportioned ratio into granular compound fertilizer. The entire line is divided into six modules according to the process flow: raw material pretreatment, precise batching, mixing and granulation, drying and cooling, screening and coating, and automatic packaging. The equipment is compact, highly automated, and can stably produce high-quality compound fertilizer.
Raw material pretreatment is the first step in production. The main equipment includes crushers and vibrating screens. Raw materials such as urea, monoammonium phosphate, and potassium chloride often exhibit agglomeration. The crusher can pulverize lumpy materials to the qualified particle size; the vibrating screen separates coarse and fine materials, and unqualified materials are returned for reprocessing.
The precise batching and mixing system determines the nutrient balance of the fertilizer. The core components are the automatic batching system, silos, conveyors, and horizontal mixers. The multi-bin batching system precisely measures each raw material according to the formula, with errors controlled within a minimal range. A conveyor feeds the proportioned materials into a mixer, where a double-screw structure rapidly agitates, ensuring uniform distribution of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and trace elements, preventing nutrient stratification.
Granulation is the core of the production line, commonly using rotary drum granulators or disc granulators. The uniformly mixed powder rolls and forms uniformly sized, rounded, and high-strength granules, suitable for mechanized fertilization. A binder spraying device can be added during granulation to improve granule formation rate.
The drying and cooling system stabilizes granule quality and consists of a rotary drum dryer and a cooler. The dryer removes excess moisture from the granules, preventing clumping during storage; the cooler rapidly lowers the granule temperature, preventing nutrient loss due to high temperatures, while also increasing granule hardness and extending shelf life.
The screening and coating process improves the finished product qualification rate; the equipment includes a drum screen and a coating machine. The screening machine separates qualified granules, while unqualified broken and large granules are returned to the previous stage for reprocessing. The coating machine sprays an anti-caking agent onto the granule surface, reducing storage adhesion and improving appearance and flowability.
At the end of the production line are automatic packaging machines and conveyors, achieving integrated quantitative bagging, sealing, and conveying. Packaging accuracy is high and speed is fast, adaptable to 25-50kg standard packaging bags, significantly reducing labor costs and improving factory efficiency.
The complete NPK fertilizer production line, equipped with dust removal and electrical control auxiliary equipment, meets the requirements of environmental protection and intelligent production. Equipment at each stage works collaboratively, completing the process from raw materials to finished products in one go. It is suitable for small and medium-sized processing plants and can also be expanded into a large-scale production line with tens of thousands of tons, making it an ideal configuration for compound fertilizer production.
