What are the key pieces of equipment in a compound fertilizer production line?

A compound fertilizer production line is a core system in chemical and agricultural input production. It relies on the coordinated operation of various specialized equipment to complete the entire process, including raw material processing, granulation, drying and refining, and finished product processing. The performance stability and matching degree of the equipment directly determine the nutrient uniformity, granule quality, and production efficiency of the compound fertilizer. The key equipment in the entire production line each performs its specific function, interconnected to form a standardized and automated production system.

Raw material pretreatment equipment is the first core component of the production line, mainly including an automatic batching system, a crusher, and a screening machine. The automatic batching system consists of silos, weighing devices, and conveying equipment, which can accurately proportion various raw materials such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, ensuring high batching accuracy and guaranteeing that the fertilizer nutrient ratio meets standards from the source. The crusher often adopts a cage or chain structure, which can crush agglomerated and large pieces of raw materials to standard particle size. Combined with the screening machine, impurities and unqualified materials are removed, ensuring uniform raw material fineness and laying the foundation for subsequent mixing and granulation.

The mixing and granulation equipment is the core forming unit of the production line, with the core equipment being a twin-shaft paddle mixer and a granulator. The twin-shaft paddle mixer has strong mixing force and high mixing uniformity, allowing various raw materials to be fully integrated and preventing nutrient segregation in fertilizers. The granulator is crucial for forming, and the mainstream types include rotary drum granulators and double roller extrusion granulators. Rotary drum granulators have wide adaptability, using the rotation of the drum to drive the material to roll and agglomerate into granules, resulting in a high granulation rate and stable operation. Extrusion granulators do not require the addition of water, are suitable for heat-sensitive raw materials, and produce granules with high hardness.

Drying and cooling equipment determines the storage quality of the finished product and mainly includes drum dryers and coolers. The granulated particles have a high moisture content; the dryer uses counter-current hot air heat exchange to quickly evaporate excess moisture from the particles, improving particle strength and preventing subsequent agglomeration. The high-temperature particles after drying need to be sent to a rotary cooler, where they are rapidly cooled by negative pressure air cooling, while simultaneously removing trace amounts of moisture a second time, bringing the material temperature down to room temperature to meet packaging and storage conditions.

Post-processing equipment mainly consists of screening machines and coating machines. The finished product screening machine separates crushed materials, powders, and large, substandard particles, selecting uniformly sized finished granules. Waste materials can be recycled and re-granulated. The coating machine forms a protective film on the granule surface by spraying an anti-caking agent, effectively improving the compound fertilizer's moisture-proof and anti-caking properties and extending its shelf life.

The entire compound fertilizer production line achieves integrated production of raw material processing, molding, refining, and modification through the coordinated operation of various key equipment. Optimized equipment selection and operation and maintenance management can effectively improve production efficiency, reduce energy consumption, ensure stable compound fertilizer product quality, and contribute to the large-scale, standardized production of modern agricultural inputs.
